Transform Your Smile with Composite Veneers and Dental Bonding

Welcome to The Dental Practice, where we are committed to enhancing smiles through advanced composite veneers and dental bonding in Burwood, NSW. Our experienced dental team offers personalised and transformative treatments to help you achieve the radiant smile you desire.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are crafted from a tooth-coloured resin material that is applied and sculpted directly onto the teeth. This affordable and versatile solution can often be placed in a single visit, providing a convenient option for smile enhancement.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding involves the application of a tooth-coloured composite resin to the teeth, which is then sculpted and shaped to improve the appearance of the teeth. This non-invasive procedure can effectively address various aesthetic concerns, providing an alternative to traditional veneers.

The Difference Between Composite Veneers and Dental Bonding

Material and Application

Composite veneers are crafted from a resin material and are fabricated outside the mouth before being bonded to the teeth, while dental bonding involves the direct application and sculpting of the composite resin onto the teeth.

Thickness and Durability

Composite veneers are typically thicker and more durable compared to dental bonding, providing a longer-lasting solution for smile enhancement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before deciding if your teeth are suitable for porcelain veneers, it is important that your gums are healthy and your oral hygiene routine is strictly adhered to.

Porcelain veneers are an ideal option if you would like to:

  • Improve the shape and colour of your teeth.
  • Straighten mild to moderately crowded teeth.
  • Improve appearance where teeth are healthy or slightly damaged.
  • Close gaps

Before treatment commences, The Dental Practice team will ensure your mouth is in good oral health, as this will enable the dentist to get an accurate fit for the veneer at the gum line.

Meticulous preparation by your dentist prior to placing your veneers ensures a long lasting result. Each tooth receiving a veneer will be lightly prepared to remove a very minor amount of its outer layer so it appears the same size as your natural teeth when the veneers are placed.

Once prepared, a mould of your teeth is taken, and used as a template. From this, a skilled technician in our dental laboratory will then create your veneers. During the time it takes our technician to craft your new smile, we may place temporary veneers so you can retain a natural appearance.

At the appointment where we place the finished product, if temporary veneers were placed, they are removed and your teeth cleaned before the final veneers are bonded. This will ensure that when your veneers are secured with a formulated dental adhesive, the strongest bond possible is achieved.

When your veneers are placed over the teeth, they are adjusted for comfort and fit against your gum-line. They are examined for their colour match prior to being permanently bonded, creating your new beautiful smile.

Although veneers are crafted from high-grade porcelain, your gums and supporting teeth to which your veneers are secured still need to be kept healthy. Dental veneers should be treated with the same care as your natural teeth and therefore maintaining a thorough a home oral care routine is very important. Your regular care appointments with The Dental Practice hygiene team will also assist in keeping your new smile looking bright and healthy for many years.
