Restore basic functionality & eat the foods you desire with Implant Supported Dentures
The Overdenture treatment provides our patients with life-changing results by anchoring their once loose dentures with dental implants so that they can live a happier healthier life.
What are Implant Supported Dentures?
Dentures that are supported by implants, otherwise known as overdentures or implant retained dentures, are designed to connect to the dental implants in your mouth. This anchoring system allows you to stimulate the jaw and maintain bone structure in the face while improving speech, restoring and restoring the ability the chew harder foods.
The three different types of implant supported-dentures offered at our practice
When you visit us for your initial consultation we will assess your oral health and determine which is the best treatment option for you. The three implant supported overdentures are:
A fixed overdenture is attached to your jaw with dental implants. At The Inner West Dental Implant Centre we use the All-on-4 system to carry out this procedure. The advantage of this system is that you only need 4-6 implants to replace all the teeth on your upper or lower jaw. This denture can be removed by your dentist to be cleaned and maintained
This is similar to a fixed overdenture with one clear exception. Once the necessary number of implants is placed, a bar is attached to the implants to support the denture. Your new denture will able to clip into place and you will be able to remove it for cleaning.
An implant stabilized denture is when a small number of implants stabilise your denture. This is similar to fixed implant supported denture with the exception that you can take it out each night and clean it.
