Has it been a long time since your last dentist visit?
Our Burwood dentists don’t just solve problems, they prevent them from ever occurring. Potential problems such as dental decay and gum disease can cause a lot of discomfort which is why when it comes to your oral health it’s important to see your dentist regularly.
Why are Dental Check-Ups Important?
Having a healthy mouth means more than just a bright smile. Caring for your oral health involves an understanding of its importance and impact on your overall health. This is why our Burwood dentists at The Dental Practice have developed a dedicated health and hygiene programme as part of our commitment to you.
Our comprehensive examination includes:
At The Dental Practice, we want you to have the very best experience to complement what we believe is the very best in dental care that’s available in Australia.
- Radiographs - Where necessary, we will take digital x-rays of your teeth so we can assess the health of the foundations of your current smile.
- Photographs - Essential for treatment planning and a great communication tool to use with our patients and laboratories.
- Tooth Check - A thorough assessment of the health, function and appearance of your teeth and any existing restorations.
- Gum Health - We will carry out an extensive gum assessment to assess the foundation of your teeth. We may recommend an Active Maintenance programme with one of our hygienists who will continue your service of care.
- Jaw Joint - We assess your external jaw joints because the regular occurrence of headaches and migraines is often closely related to ‘bite’ issues.
- Internal Soft Tissue - We assess the health of tongue, cheeks, and palate, and routinely carry out a comprehensive Oral Cancer Screening at each maintenance visit.
- External Soft Tissue - We assess the glands muscles and glands of your head and neck to ensure there is nothing external that might cause you future issues.
- Lifestyle - We will discuss your existing diet and lifestyle, including factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption, which can affect the health of your teeth. We will also ask you about your general health and medication.
- About You - We always promise to listen to and understand your wants and needs. We believe that it’s important to get to know you, to build a sense of trust, in order to give you the care you need and deserve.
Should I maintain Active Maintenance?
Avoid the major problems all together by closely monitor your oral health in order to diagnose any irregularities early, preventing gum disease, tooth loss and reducing the need for extensive restorative procedures. Our entire team is dedicated to helping you achieve and maintain healthy teeth, healthy gums and a beautiful smile for life.
